New York, NY – Sept. 14, 2016 – Keith Cox has been promoted to President, Development and Production for TV Land, it was announced today by Cyma Zarghami, President of Viacom’s Kids and Family Group, which includes TV Land, CMT and Nickelodeon. Cox, who was most recently Executive Vice President of Development and Original Programming for the network, will continue to be based in Los Angeles and report to Zarghami.

“Keith has been instrumental in shaping TV Land's original series over the last 10 years, first by bringing ‘Hot in Cleveland’ to the network in 2010, and by continuing to attract top-tier creative and talent from across the industry,” said Zarghami. “He has helped put the network on the map as a premier destination for quality original series through his strategic leadership of content development and his keen eye for creators and stories with a distinct point of view. Led by shows like ‘Younger’ and ‘Teachers,’ it’s exciting to see TV Land’s content pipeline connect to new and entirely different audiences.”

The marquee series in TV Land’s reinvention is “Younger,” helmed by prolific and renowned television creator Darren Star, and starring Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff and Debi Mazar. Going into its third season this fall and renewed for a fourth, “Younger” has been hugely successful, and Cox announced earlier this year that he closed a deal with Star to remain on the comedy and develop another series for the network.

With top talent in front of and behind the camera, TV Land’s recently announced pick-ups include “Nobodies,” executive produced by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, and the Funny or Die-produced “Throwing Shade,” based on the hit podcast.  TV Land is also shooting pilots for an adaptation of “The First Wives Club,” starring Alyson Hannigan, Megan Hilty and Vanessa Lachey, and written and produced by “Sex and the City’s” Jenny Bicks and “New Girl’s” Rebecca Addelman, and “American Woman,” a story inspired by the childhood of Kyle Richards – produced by John Wells, written by John Riggi and starring Alicia Silverstone and Mena Suvari. Additionally, the network has announced a pilot based on the cult classic film “Heathers,” written by Jason Micallef (“Butter”), directed by Leslye Headland (“Bachelorette”) and executive produced by Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi for Lakeshore Entertainment.

As one of TV Land’s executive producers, Cox developed, produced and launched all of the channel’s current original scripted programming. The first, “Hot in Cleveland,” ran for six seasons and is now syndicated by CBS Television Distribution.

Prior to joining TV Land, Cox held the post of Executive Vice President, Comedy and Alternative Development at the WB Television Network, where he oversaw all of the network’s half-hour and reality development of such hits as Ashton Kutcher’s “Beauty and the Geek” and 51 Minds’ “Surreal Life.” He was also instrumental in the development of such critical successes as “Starlet” and “Pop Stars 2.” Cox joined the WB in 2001 as Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming at the WB.

Earlier, he worked at Greenblatt/Janollari as Vice President of Comedy and Drama Development, and he was part of the team that developed “Six Feet Under,” “The Hughleys,” and the online cult favorite, “Heat Vision and Jack” directed by Ben Stiller and starring Jack Black and Christine Taylor. Cox began his career as Director of Programming during the early days of FX before joining Warner Brothers Television, where he developed several shows for NBC’s powerhouse Thursday night line-up.

Los Angeles, CA -- July 11, 2016 -- Hitmen, cops, prostitutes and parishioners are all part of Pastor Buddy's daily life in his newly adopted sleepy town.  Starring Michael Rosenbaum, the second season of "Impastor" picks up with Buddy's  life hanging in the balance as he tries to escape capture from both the police and a dangerous criminal from his past.  All the while he must juggle his godly responsibilities to his still unsuspecting staff.  Season Two of "Impastor" premieres on Wednesday, September 28th at 10:30pm ET/PT following the season three premiere of "Younger" on TV Land.

"Impastor," a single-camera comedy from Christopher Vane ("Wings"), stars Michael Rosenbaum ("Smallville"), Sara Rue ("Less Than Perfect"), Mircea Monroe ("Episodes"), Mike Kosinski (The Second City Chicago), and David Rasche ("Ugly Betty"). Though he's tempted to immediately run off with the pastor's money, Buddy has a change of heart when he realizes that the people there, including his prim church assistant Dora (Rue), actually like this new and semi-improved alter ego…and he kind of likes them back.

"Impastor" is executive produced by Vane and Rosenbaum, along with Eric and Kim Tannenbaum ("Two and a Half Men") and Rob Greenberg ("How I Met Your Mother").

McHale, HeatherTVL Release Content Page layout TV LAND PICKS UP DARREN STAR’S FAN FAVORITE “YOUNGER” FOR FOURTH SEASON AS PRODUCTION BEGINS ON SEASON THREE

Highly-Anticipated Season Three to Premiere on TV Land on Wednesday, September 28th at 10pm ET/PT

New York, NY – June 14, 2016 – TV Land's critically-acclaimed, fan favorite comedy series "Younger," from "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star, has been renewed for a 12-episode fourth season, it was announced today by Keith Cox, Executive Vice President of Development and Original Programming for the network. The news comes on the heels of the series, starring two-time Tony® winner Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Peter Hermann and Molly Bernard, beginning production on its third season this week in New York. Season three of "Younger" will premiere on Wednesday, September 28th at 10pm ET/PT, followed by the season two premiere of "Impastor," which was originally scheduled for this summer.

The second season of "Younger" continued to grow from the first season and through the second. Season two finished with double digit gains among all key demos (up +67% with Adults 25-54; +66% among Women 25-54; +63% with Adults 18-49; +60% among Women 18-49)  versus the series' season one average. Social media numbers climbed as well from end of season one to end of season two, tripling the series' followers on Instagram, doubling its following on Twitter and seeing a +40% increase in Facebook fans. VOD orders also tripled from the premiere episode to the finale episode of season two – a number sure to grow now that seasons one and two are available for binge-watching on TV Land On Demand, and also the TV Land app.

"The show is a force in and of itself, so it's a no-brainer to renew it again," said Cox. "Critics and fans love it, and I know Darren and the entire cast and crew behind 'Younger' will continue to deliver at the top of their game."

"Younger" follows Liza (Foster), a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a job in the highly competitive world of publishing – and succeeds. Now working under the prickly Diana (Shor), Liza has to figure out how to balance her real life with best friend Maggie (Mazar), and her "pretend" life with her new crew – friend/coworker Kelsey (Duff) and fashion publicist Lauren (Bernard). At the end of season two, Liza's secret took a tragic turn when Kelsey's fiancé Thad (Dan Amboyer) was killed in an accident right after he discovered her lie, and Liza's love life is in disarray as she tries to choose between on-again/off-again boyfriend Josh (Nico Tortorella) and her boss Charles (Peter Hermann), with whom she has an undeniable connection.

"Younger" is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star, with Tony Hernandez of JAX Media executive producing for TV Land. Dottie Zicklin and Eric Zicklin also serve as executive producers and writers on the series.

BOB ODENKIRK PAYS TRIBUTE TO LATE COMEDIAN GARRY SHANDLING

GEORGE LOPEZ HOSTS EVENT PREMIERING SUNDAY, APRIL 17TH AT 9PM ET/PT ON TV LAND

Los Angeles, CA – April 10, 2016 – Television's most entertaining night of the year brought the house down as the TV Land Icon Awards in Celebration with Entertainment Weekly taped last night at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. Premiering Sunday, April 17th at 9pm ET/PT on TV Land, the awards show kicked off with host George Lopez saying that his first pitch to the network, "Comedians in Cars Getting Churros," was passed on. The ceremony honored John Stamos with the Timeless Icon Award, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele with the Comedy Duo Icon Award, Debbie Allen with the Trailblazer Icon Award and "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story," with the Instant Icon Award. The night also featured a tribute to the late comedic legend, Garry Shandling presented by longtime friend, Bob Odenkirk.

John Stamos received the Timeless Icon Award, which is presented to an entertainer whose extraordinary work spans generations. His "Full House" and "Fuller House" co-stars Lori Loughlin and Dave Coulier, "Grandfathered" co-stars Paget Brewster and Josh Peck, and legendary television creator and film producer Garry Marshall presented him with his award after Candace Cameron Bure, Jimmy Kimmel, Don Rickles and Bob Saget toasted Stamos in a pre-recorded tribute. The GRAMMY-winning band The Beach Boys performed a mash-up of their mega-hits, including "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "Good Vibrations," and "Fun, Fun, Fun," before Stamos himself jumped on stage and joined them on the drums for a special performance of "Barbara Ann." Accepting his award, an emotional Stamos graciously thanked his fans for letting him in their living rooms all these years.

Rob Huebel presented Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, of the award-winning hit Comedy Central series "Key & Peele," with the Comedy Duo Icon Award, celebrating their hilarious sketches that instantly turn viral. Huebel spiced things up with a one-man improv jam as part of his introduction. Upon receiving their award, the duo humorously thanked everyone for knowing they have a show. They also thanked teenage sons for introducing their parents to their show over the holidays, and paid homage to fellow honoree Norman Lear by thanking him for groundbreaking shows such as "All in the Family" and "Good Times."

Innovative choreographer, director, actress and three-time Emmy® winner Debbie Allen ("FAME," "A Different World," "Scandal") received the Trailblazer Icon Award and actress Ellen Pompeo, whom Allen co-stars with and directs on the hit drama "Grey's Anatomy," presented her with the award. Before introducing a montage featuring Kerry Washington, Jada Pinkett Smith and Taraji P. Henson, Pompeo said that Allen is "always finding ways to help others while doing all of her other work." In the pre-recorded video, Washington said Allen was her "shero" and Smith said, "She's changed the game for many people and that's what makes her a true icon." Lastly, Henson remarked about Allen that she "never forgets to keep raising creative artists." Dancers then rushed the stage for an electrifying performance to the iconic song "Fame," as part of Allen's tribute.

Sutton Foster introduced the IHOP Fan Favorite Character Icon Award, which fans were able to vote on for weeks leading up to the taping. Jim Parsons, who plays the forever-nerdy Sheldon Cooper on the long-running hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" won the award.

The ceremony also included a heartfelt tribute to a comedic legend and inspiration, Emmy® Award-winning Garry Shandling ("The Larry Sanders Show," "It's Garry Shandling's Show"), presented by his longtime friend, "Better Call Saul" star Bob Odenkirk, who said that "when Garry asked you how you're doing he actually wanted you to answer."

FX's hit series, the much-talked about drama "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story," was honored with the Instant Icon Award, with Oscar® winner Cuba Gooding Jr. accepting on behalf of the series' stars, creators and producers. "Entertainment Tonight's" Kevin Frazier presented Gooding with the award. Upon receiving the award, Gooding said, "It is so humbling…we are incredibly grateful to you, the fans. There isn't a day that goes by that someone doesn't say how affected they are. The show succeeded on so many levels and we're thrilled it connected so deeply with viewers."

The show-stopping finale of the TV Land Icon Awards was a tribute to three-time Emmy® Award winner, the renowned television creator Norman Lear, who received the Impact Icon Award, praising individuals that have made a significant impression on American entertainment and culture. Seth McFarlane, who  presented Lear with the award, remarked, "[Lear] is 50 years older than me and better than me all around," and comedian and sitcom star Jerrod Carmichael said in a pre-taped message that Lear "has created art that has genuinely touched people's lives. " Oscar®, Emmy®, Tony® and GRAMMY® winner Rita Moreno and "Good Times" star Jimmie Walker appeared in Lear's tribute, and "Hollywood Game Night" host Jane Lynch toasted and paid homage to Lear, saying that his work in television made the world more welcoming for everyone. New York, NY – March 16, 2016 – Dating a murderous psychopath and figuring out what to wear to your best friend’s suicide are typical teen problems for Veronica Sawyer. With a pilot script order for “Heathers,” TV Land is digging into the pitch-black comedy for their first anthology series, based on the cult classic film. Set in the present day, our heroine will be dealing with a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers. The script is written by Jason Micallef (“Butter”), and Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will executive produce for Lakeshore Entertainment.

The pilot script order for “Heathers” comes on the heels of several development announcements TV Land made at their upfront presentation on March 3rd, including an untitled put pilot based on the life of Kyle Richards (“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”) with Emmy®-winning executive producers John Wells (“Shameless,” “ER,” “The West Wing”) and John Riggi (“The Comeback,” “30 Rock,” “Will & Grace”), and a pilot order for an adaptation of hit film “The First Wives Club,” to be written by Rebecca Addelman (“New Girl”) and executive produced by Jenny Bicks (“Sex and the City”). The network also renewed “Teachers” for a 20-episode second season and struck an overall development deal with Darren Star, the creator of the critically-acclaimed show “Younger,” which has its second season finale on Wednesday, March 23rd at 10pm ET/PT.

New York, NY – March 3, 2016 – Following a successful brand re-invention, TV Land continues to evolve and expand its roster of original scripted programming by partnering with A-list talent, producers and writers to become a destination for compelling, quality television. During the network's Upfront presentation held today at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, Keith Cox, TV Land's Executive Vice President, Development and Original Programming, announced an overall deal with entertainment icon Darren Star, the creator, executive producer and writer of the network's critically-acclaimed comedy "Younger," keeping him on board to develop another project with the network. TV Land also announced pilot orders for projects with prominent creative forces in the industry. The first is a fresh adaptation of the cult comedy hit "The First Wives Club," to be written by Rebecca Addelman ("New Girl") and executive produced by Jenny Bicks ("Sex and the City"), and the second is an untitled put pilot based on the life of Kyle Richards ("The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills") with Emmy®-winning executive producers John Wells ("Shameless," "ER," "The West Wing") and John Riggi ("The Comeback," "30 Rock," "Will & Grace"). These join the previously announced pilot "Nobodies," currently shooting in Los Angeles, executive produced by Emmy® winner Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone.

"Looking ahead, we're developing shows that are funny but also embrace real dramatic moments," said Cox. "We're fortunate to be working with such amazing collaborators as we continue to reinvent the network."

TV Land's growing list of comedies include "The Jim Gaffigan Show," premiering season two Wednesday, June 22nd at 10pm ET/PT, and "Impastor," premiering season two on Wednesday, July 13th at 10:30pm ET/PT. New series "Lopez," executive produced by comedian George Lopez and "Silicon Valley's" John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky, premieres Wednesday, March 30th at 10pm ET/PT. "Younger's" second season, which hit series highs this week with Adults 18-49, Adults 25-39 and total viewers (L+3), airs its finale on Wednesday, March 23rd at 10pm ET/PT and was recently renewed for a third season.

The event featured appearances by TV Land series stars Molly Bernard ("Younger"), Hilary Duff ("Younger"), Jim Gaffigan ("The Jim Gaffigan Show"), Peter Hermann ("Younger"), George Lopez ("Lopez"), Debi Mazar ("Younger"), Miriam Shor ("Younger"), Nico Tortorella ("Younger"), and executive producers Alison Brie ("Teachers") and Darren Star ("Younger").

Descriptions of all the projects addressed in the presentation – including series and pilots in development – are below:

Pilots

  • "THE FIRST WIVES CLUB"

Putting a fresh twist on Paramount's iconic 1996 film, the pilot, to be written by Rebecca Addelman ("New Girl") and executive produced by Jenny Bicks ("Sex and the City," "The Big C"), will take place in modern day San Francisco. The story revolves around three women – friends and classmates in the 90s – who reconnect after their close friend from college dies in a freak accident. When they discover that they are all at a romantic crossroads, they band together to tackle divorce, relationships and life's other annoying challenges. Paramount Television will produce for TV Land.

  • "NOBODIES"

Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone executive produce this comedy following Groundlings alums Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras – who play themselves and will also serve as executive producers – as they try desperately to land one of their famous friends for a feature script that they have developed, so that they, too, can rise to fame in Hollywood. JAX Media's Tony Hernandez will executive produce for TV Land.

  • UNTITLED KYLE RICHARDS PILOT

The untitled pilot, set in the '70s, centers on Bonnie Nolan, a 40-year old woman with a beautiful home and two beautiful daughters to go with it. Finding herself alone after her marriage fails, Bonnie is an enigma of the times: a single woman with no means to support herself or her children. The project is inspired by Richards' real life upbringing, and her mother's struggle to raise her family and claim her own brand of independence in a world not ready to give it.  The pilot is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television for TV Land, and will be executive produced by John Wells ("Shameless," "ER," "The West Wing") and John Riggi ("The Comeback," "30 Rock," "Will & Grace"), who wrote the pilot script. Richards will co-executive produce.

Current Series

  • "LOPEZ" – Series Premiere  on Wednesday, March 30th at 10pm ET/PT

"Lopez" explores the real George Lopez we rarely get to see, pushed and pulled between the worlds of race, class and fame, yet always having a hard time fitting in. John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky ("Silicon Valley," "King Of The Hill") will executive produce the series with Lopez. Also executive producing are Michael Rotenberg ("It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia") of 3 Arts Entertainment and Troy Miller ("Arrested Development"), who is producing the show via Dakota Pictures.

  • "YOUNGER" – Season Two Finale on Wednesday, March 23rd at 10pm ET/PT

HUGH DAVIDSON, LARRY DORF AND RACHEL RAMRAS TO WRITE, STAR AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCE

Pasadena, CA – January 6, 2016 – TV Land has ordered a pilot for "Nobodies," starring, executive produced and written by Groundlings alums Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras ("Mike Tyson Mysteries"), and also to be executive produced by Emmy® winner and Oscar® nominee Melissa McCarthy and acclaimed comedic actor/director Ben Falcone through their production company On The Day. The pilot is inspired by Davidson, Dorf and Ramras, who in their real lives, watched as their friends from The Groundlings went on to star in blockbuster comedies and win Oscars, while they toiled away in Hollywood. The news was announced this morning at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour in Pasadena by Keith Cox, Executive Vice President, Development and Original Programming, TV Land.

"Nobodies" will follow Davidson, Dorf and Ramras, playing themselves, as they try desperately to land one of their famous friends for a feature script that they've developed so that they, too, can rise to fame in Hollywood. The pilot will shoot in Los Angeles in winter of 2016 with McCarthy and Falcone directing and guest-starring – Falcone in the pilot, and McCarthy in a future episode, should the pilot go to series.

"Hugh, Larry, and Rachel tell stories that are so funny, you honestly can't believe they're true," said Cox. "It's their unique take on exactly what it's like toiling away in Hollywood – and it is that unfiltered comedy that we're looking for."

This project is one of several in development for TV Land, along with pilot "I Shudder" starring Hamish Linklater and Megan Hilty and produced by Dan Jinks and Paul Rudnick, and the untitled John Wells/John Riggi/Warner Horizon Television project inspired by the life of Kyle Richards ("The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills").
