Katie O'Brien plays the naïve and well-intentioned Ms. Mary Louise Bennigan in TV Land's comedy series, "Teachers." The show's mid-season premiere for season three will debut on Tuesday, January 15th at 10:00pm ET/PT, and it will be the show's final chapter. The series revolves around a group of elementary school teachers who are trying to mold the minds of America's youth, but don't have their own lives together at all. O'Brien, along with "The Katydids," writes, stars in and executive produces "Teachers" alongside showrunner Ian Roberts.
Originally, from Omaha, Nebraska, O'Brien later moved to Chicago, where she performed with the iO Theater, Second City and was the youngest cast member to perform in Nora Ephron's, "Love, Loss and What I Wore" with Broadway in Chicago. While embracing the Chicago improv culture, O'Brien met and fell in love with her best friends, "The Katydids" and the group began doing shows, and later created "Teachers." O'Brien has also appeared on "Key and Peele", "The Today Show", and "@ Midnight".
O'Brien currently lives in Los Angeles with her fiancé and her dog, aka "her son" Murrie. She is a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen and is perpetually fascinated with Mariah Carey.
