Caitlin Barlow - "Ms. Cecelia Cannon"

Caitlin Barlow plays the eco-friendly and ultra-politically correct Ms. Cecelia Cannon in TV Land's comedy series, "Teachers." The show's mid-season premiere for season three will debut on Tuesday, January 15th at 10:00pm ET/PT, and it will be the show's final chapter. The series revolves around a group of elementary school teachers who are trying to mold the minds of America's youth, but don't have their own lives together at all. Barlow, along with "The Katydids," writes, stars in and executive produces the series alongside showrunner Ian Roberts.

Coincidentally, Barlow was an actual elementary school teacher and earned her M.A. in Bilingual Education from DePaul University. She taught fourth grade in Chicago Public Schools before moving to Los Angeles and becoming a writer and actor. A native of Illinois, she earned her B.A. in history from Illinois State University in 2006. After graduation, she taught English in Osaka, Japan for a year and then returned to Chicago in 2007 to pursue teaching and performance opportunities.

In Chicago, when she wasn't trying to get nine-year-olds excited about fractions, Barlow was active in the Chicago comedy community, performing in various improvisation and sketch comedy shows at the iO Theater, The Annoyance Theater and The Second City. She acted in several comedic shorts including "Tool T-Shirt," which won the 2011 Just for Laughs Festival's award for Best Comedic Short. She helped form The Katydids in 2009 and soon thereafter the group began performing improv shows at various blackbox theaters in Chicago. They then moved onto comedic shorts, sketch shows and eventually their web series, "Teachers."

In her free time Barlow volunteers with 826LA and hangs out with her baby Charlotte, husband Frank and their cat Jack, in Los Angeles.
